Still here waiting--- got saloon air resolved-- a new one fixes everything!! Now waiting for mail and meds which should arrive on Monday. Had a nice conversation with Jack on Dea Latis regarding our heretical views on varnish.Dea Latis is pictured at right. Hoping that the weather cooperates, stuff arrives as planned, and we can boogy Tuesday.

Still Preparing for Departure

Just a quick note: We're still at Oxford Yacht fixing things and breaking things and fixing things, etc., etc. We're gaining on it, and hope to be able to get over to Annapolis on Tuesday to pick up a new air conditioner for the saloon, and then be on our way north. We turned in our rental car today, so I guess that means we're cruisin' even though we haven't left the slip! Everyone have a great Memorial Day Weekend.

Blue Moon and crew in Oxford, MD

The first leg of our cruise was from Trappe, MD to Oxford, MD. Cruising the ten miles took us a little over an hour. We'll stay here for a while and get all of our systems up and running.

So far we've replaced a refrigeration pump, three starting batteries, and a hot water tank heating element. Tomorrow we 'll tackle the washer/dryer. Today it over filled and would not pump out which led to a lot of fun removing the water from a front loading machine.

Blue Moon Ready to Launch

Last week Blue Moon was made ready to launch by the crew of Oxford Yacht Agency at Dickerson Harbor near Oxford, Maryland. A crack in the keel was found during a pre-launch check. The knowledgable crew at OYA
repaired her keel and painted her bottom. Today they waxed her hull and she looks "Bee-yoo-ti-full." You can see the keel repair at:

The rest of this week we will load her up with all our stuff and check all her systems to make sure everything is working.

Then we're off and cruising!
